George Clooney, Cristiano Ronaldo Among The Highest-Paid Celebrities Of 2018

The richest people in showbiz all have millions of dollars, but, because not all millionaires are created equal, a few of the biggest names in sports and entertainment — like Cristiano Ronaldo and George Clooney, among others — have separated themselves from their peers as the top dogs in the past year. And, after Forbes announced their annual list of richest people in showbiz, we figured it’d be good to list the top-10 for you to know.

Look, no one necessarily gets into sports and entertainment for the money, but, when the paychecks end up in the seven- and eight-figure range, its got to be a nice feeling to officially know you’ve “made it.” From athletes to actors to musicians, here are the richest people in showbiz for 2018, according to the aforementioned Forbes list — and you better believe these people are living large.

  • 10. Cristiano Ronaldo (sports) – $108 million
  • 9. Ed Sheeran (music) – $110 million
  • 8. Lionel Messi (sports) – $111 million
  • 7. Coldplay (music) – $115.5 million
  • 6. U2 (music) – $118 million
  • 5. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (movies) – $124 million
  • 4. Judy Sheindlin (TV) – $147 million
  • 3. Kylie Jenner (TV, business) – $166.5 million
  • 2. George Clooney (movies, business) – $239 million
  • 1. Floyd Mayweather Jr. (sports) – $285 million

Some noteworthy people on that list, but some of the more interesting names are people like Kylie Jenner — who made the list following a successful cosmetic line, and, at age 20, is the youngest celebrity on the richest people list. And, while actor George Clooney might be best-known for his on-screen talent, his addition as No. 2 on the Forbes list is due to the sale of his tequila brand, Casamigos Mezcal, which was sold for $1 billion in June, 2017, per Bloomberg.

With three very rich athletes and three musicians/musical groups to go with some of the other names, it’s clear that the richest people in showbiz have a diverse background of talents and skills. For instance, retired Floyd Mayweather Jr. earned a whopping $285 million last year following a big-time fight with Conor McGregor, which was, arguably, the most anticipated boxing match in the past five years.

However, the most surprising name on the list of the richest people in showbiz might be Judy Sheindlin, who, at 75 years old, might not be a household name, per se, but is recognized as the popular Judge Judy. Yeah, it’s good to hold order in the millionaires court.
